Hats off to the consultancy supporting SMEs to greater heights

Bibi Martin is a business woman on a mission. She’s the founder of BM Interim Management (BMIM) Ltd; the consultancy firm that helps SMEs reach their potential. At times it might seem like a tall order, but her business is certainly up to the task.

I love co-creating with entrepreneurs and reaching new heights – my dad is an entrepreneur, so I grew up in that environment.

Tell us what BM Interim Management Ltd is and what your business offers?

We’re a London-based management consultancy assisting established SMEs in their transition - either growth or re-invention or rescuing for better success. We have a track record of achieving business results through design and implementation of growth programmes.

Recently we have been focusing on developing the finance arm of the company, BMIM Cash flow. This is a team of finance enthusiasts, committed to creating brilliant and valuable content, strategies and tools to help CEOs of growing companies understand and improve cash flow and returns in their business. We help you discover why and how you are short of cash and what you need to do to transform this. We guide and assist.

We love discovering new ways to make a  CEO's work easier and more enjoyable; creating products that are practical, informative and simple, products that bring transformative experience for the better.

What was it that inspired you to set-up your own business?

I love co-creating with entrepreneurs and reaching new heights – my dad is an entrepreneur, so I grew up in that environment. What really inspired me to set up BMIM was seeing wasted potential: this relates to both people and businesses. I could clearly see the unfulfilled potential of businesses and people and I want to be part of the ‘fulfilment’ journey.

Do you think an Entrepreneur ISA and a Small Business Savings Allowance would have helped aid your company's growth in the early stages?

Yes, definitely! I think that an Entrepreneur ISA and a Small Business Savings Allowance are a good way of providing financial support in the early stages of company’s growth.

My advice would, however, be to use this money wisely - that is to channel it towards product validating activities, so it will be quicker to acquire key accounts in the next stage of company’s development.

What have been the biggest challenges you have faced so far?

Everything is a learning curve, everyday we experience something new. Right now, we are working on matching the content and tools with the people who are looking for them. It is a learning curve for us as we have never done this before and we are getting better and better at it.

What advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

Stay focused on fulfilling your desires. Dream big and never be afraid of anything. Go full speed...and if you get a setback, don’t worry. Learn from it and keep moving forward. Never look back!

What is your proudest achievement to date as a company?

The development of BMIM Cash flow. It is an ongoing project and a great fun! Lots of content development, digital tools and ebooks which are packaged into a digital business model. It is a great challenge to shift what is traditionally known as a face-to-face business into digital.
